Bee behavior in white clover
Since 2016, we have been collaborating with AU Flakkebjerg, investigating the behaviour of honey and bumblebees in white clover fields.
Improved methods for mapping honey and bumblebee behaviour can contribute to protective measures in Danish plant breeding, promoting better conditions for bees.
We have worked with different farmers throughout the process, Espe and Bonderup Estate in 2016, Krenkerup Estate in 2017 and Brødrene Christensen I/S in 2019. All growing white clover for seed.
FaunaPhotonics contributes in the collaboration with monitoring equipment, technical staff and data analysis. AU Flakkebjerg manages the collection and identification of species, as well as manual counts and inventories of nectar characteristics and yield.
The results are expected to be published and will be presented at the Plant Congress in Denmark.
