Director Frederik Taarnhøj will be part of Team Denmark in the 7th cohort for MIT REAP 2019-2021.
We are very proud to be part of the MIT Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program 7th cohort from 2019-2021. The MIT Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program (MIT REAP) provides opportunities for communities around the world to engage with MIT in an evidence-based, practical approach to strengthening innovation-driven entrepreneurial (IDE) ecosystems.
The program brings together five stakeholder groups: corporate, entrepreneur, risk capital, university and government.
Feeding a global population is among the most recognized challenges facing humanity and creates a large opportunity for Denmark. Capturing the opportunities in the market requires a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem of Ag & Food Tech. A strong ecosystem will ensure that the Ag- and food sector will continuously generate +20% of Danish exports while supporting future farming feeding a growing world population.
The MIT REAP Denmark program will help strengthen the next layer of growth companies in Ag- & Food tech, positioning them solidly on the international map. Denmark is an agricultural nation and Danish farmers continuously prove that they are among the best in the world at sustainable farming and food production.
Team Denmark will work towards strengthening the ecosystem for Ag- & Food tech startups in Denmark. Goals for the Danish team include bringing together talents operating in rural and urban environments; to inspire the established agricultural sector to support Ag- & Food Tech start-ups further; facilitating collaboration between the traditional sectors, Ag & Food Tech start-ups and research groups with expertise in key enabling technologies; mobilize the international financial community in supporting increased investments in technologies that will support future farming practices.
A focused effort and decisive strategy will pinpoint Denmark’s presence in the rapidly growing market for new Ag- & food technologies.
